Leh, Nov 03: Students of Army Goodwill School (AGS), Farona, returned from a three-day educational excursion to Leh, carrying vivid memories of Ladakh’s cultural wealth, architectural grandeur and mountain calm. The visit, held from October 31 to November 2, 2025, offered the young learners a rare opportunity to witness the region’s living heritage up close.

The journey began at the Hall of Fame, where students paid homage to Indian soldiers who served in the world’s highest battlefields. Later, the 16th-century Leh Palace opened its weathered gates to the group, offering sweeping views of the old town and glimpses into the regal past of Ladakhi kings. The Central Asian Museum further deepened the experience with relics tracing the ancient Silk Route that once linked Ladakh to Central Asia.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the visit to Shanti Stupa brought moments of reflection, the monument’s glowing dome casting a serene light over the group.

The following day was dedicated to exploring the spiritual canvas of Ladakh. Visits to Thiksey, Hemis and Spituk monasteries exposed students to centuries-old murals and the meditative chants of monks that resonated through the stone corridors. “It was an exhilarating experience to witness Ladakh’s rich heritage blended with history, culture and traditions,” the Fire and Fury Corps said in a message shared on X.

The excursion also had an academic edge. On the concluding day, AGS Farona students interacted with counterparts from Army Public School, Leh, and the University of Ladakh. Discussions revolved around climate-resilient farming, solar technology and efforts to safeguard endangered languages—topics that underscored Ladakh’s evolving educational landscape. For the students, the tour was more than a getaway; it was an immersion into a living classroom framed by mountains and monasteries, where history and modern learning converged seamlessly.
