Leh, Dec 08: The Public Health Engineering Department distributed water-testing kits to community representatives on Monday during the Mimangs-Si-sJabstogs Administration at Your Doorstep outreach programme held at the Community Hall in Gongmaling, Choglamsar, extending efforts to improve water-quality monitoring under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The camp was organised under the supervision of Nodal Officer Kunzang Wangmo, Chief Horticulture Officer, Leh, with 22 officers and officials from multiple departments engaging directly with residents from Gongmaling, Tashi Thongsmon and Korzokling.
Around 75 participants received guidance on government schemes concerning agriculture, horticulture, public health engineering, power, public works, education, health, food supplies, rural development, animal husbandry and financial and insurance services offered through banks. On-spot registrations were carried out to ensure beneficiaries could avail themselves of services without delays.
Field staff also updated four Aadhaar cards at the venue, enabling easier access to welfare programmes and essential facilities for residents.
Officials said the initiative enhanced coordination between the administration and the public while promoting transparency in the delivery of government services.
The event concluded with an interactive session where citizens shared concerns and feedback. A memorandum listing public demands and recommendations was compiled for onward submission to the Deputy Commissioner and CEO of LAHDC Leh.
