New Delhi, Jan 30: India’s cricket icon Virat Kohli’s Instagram profile, boasting 274 million followers, was restored on Friday morning following its sudden vanishing overnight, which ignited widespread speculation and fan frenzy.
No official word has emerged from Kohli or his team on whether the blackout stemmed from a deliberate decision or a technical issue.
The abrupt absence flooded social media with anxious posts, memes, and theories. Notably, Kohli’s brother Vikas’s Instagram account was also deactivated around the same time; while Virat’s reappeared, Vikas’s remained offline as of this report.
India’s ODI specialist has amassed 28,215 international runs at an average of 52.73 across formats, including 85 centuries and 146 fifties. Trailing only Sachin Tendulkar’s 34,357 runs (avg. 48.52, 100 centuries), Kohli recently overtook Kumar Sangakkara to claim second place on the all-time international run-scorers list.
