Mumbai: Renowned Buddhist spiritual leader and founder of the Mahabodhi International Centre, Leh–Ladakh, Bhikkhu Sanghasena paid a visit to the Sathya Sai Heart Hospital, describing it as a “true temple of healing and compassion” that embodies selfless service to humanity.
Bhikkhu Sanghasena was warmly received by Manoj Bhimani, Chairman and Managing Trustee of the hospital, who briefed him on the institution’s noble mission of providing world-class cardiac care completely free of cost. During the visit, Bhimani also showed him the proposed site for a nursing college, envisioned to offer quality education to students without any financial burden.
Interacting with engineers and workers at the upcoming site, Bhikkhu Sanghasena distributed sweets and expressed heartfelt appreciation for their dedication. He reminded them of the privilege of serving at an institution devoted entirely to humanitarian care and selfless service.
Bhimani later guided Bhikkhu Sanghasena through the hospital facilities, explaining advanced heart surgery procedures and introducing him to young patients undergoing treatment. The Department of Cardiology at Sathya Sai Heart Hospital is known for providing comprehensive outpatient and inpatient services free of cost and is counted among India’s leading centres for adult and pediatric cardiac interventions.
Highlighting the hospital’s far-reaching impact, it was noted that 25 patients from Ladakh have already received successful treatment here. During the visit, Bhikkhu Sanghasena also met a young patient from Ladakh, underscoring the hospital’s compassionate service beyond regional boundaries.
Impressed by the institution’s work, Bhikkhu Sanghasena remarked, “Sathya Sai Heart Hospital stands as a living example of the profound truth where love, service, and healing go hand in hand.”
