LEH: Various delegations called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, Friday at the LG Secretariat, and shared their concerns relating to youth welfare, education, health, sports, employment, and veterans’ welfare.

A delegation of STL doctors from Leh district submitted a representation regarding an alleged discrepancy in NEET PG (Medical) state counselling under the UT Ladakh reservation quota.

They sought the Lt Governor’s intervention to ensure that the reservation policy is implemented strictly as per merit and that STL candidates are considered fairly in the upcoming third round of counselling.

In another meeting, a delegation led by cyclist Leakzes Angmo called on the Hon’ble Lt Governor and shared her proposal to establish a cycling training institute in Ladakh to nurture and produce more professional cyclists from the region.

Similarly, a delegation of civil engineers aspiring for the gazetted post of Assistant Engineer called on Kavinder and requested intervention in service-related matters.

Ex-serviceman Dorje Tsering, who was injured during the 1999 Kargil War, also called on the Lt Governor and requested grant of battle casualty benefits.

Lieutenant Governor reiterated that the UT Administration is fully committed to the welfare and empowerment of youth, sportspersons, professionals, and ex-servicemen.

He stated that all necessary steps would be taken, within the framework of rules and policies, to address genuine grievances and to ensure that the benefits of government initiatives reach the people in a fair and transparent manner.
