New Delhi, Jan 13: Pakistan-born USA fast bowler Ali Khan faces uncertainty for the upcoming T20 World Cup after being denied an Indian visa, jeopardizing his participation in matches scheduled across India.
The 35-year-old, who has claimed 33 ODI and 16 T20I wickets for USA—including their famous Super Over win against Pakistan in 2024—shared the news on Instagram Stories with a photo captioned, “India visa denied but KFC for the win.”
Ali Khan, a key player in USA’s Group A alongside India, Pakistan, Namibia, and Netherlands, was expected in the squad. USA opens against India on February 7 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, with three group games in India (Mumbai, Chennai) and one in Colombo.
The T20 World Cup runs February 7 to May 8 across venues in India (Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai) and Sri Lanka (Colombo, Pallekele). Khan’s ILT20 and T20 league experience adds to concerns over his absence.
