Kasganj (UP), May 20: A speeding truck loaded with stones rammed into an e-rickshaw here, killing two brothers and injuring the driver, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred when the truck allegedly went out of control and collided head-on with the e-rickshaw near BL Garden on Soron Road under the Sadar Kotwali area, police said.
The deceased, vegetable traders Ashok (60) and his younger brother Rajaram (50), residents of Madhai locality in the district, were riding the e-rickshaw to the market to purchase vegetables, police said.
Ashok died on the spot, while Rajaram and the e-rickshaw driver, Sachin, sustained serious injuries, police said.
They were taken to the district hospital and later referred to Aligarh for advanced treatment, where Rajaram succumbed to injuries during treatment, police said.
Police seized the truck and launched a search for the accused, who fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle.
CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the driver, police said.
