Leh, Jan 25: Uttar Pradesh Statehood Day was celebrated with full fervour at Lok Niwas, Ladakh, on Saturday, bringing together officials and personnel connected with the state in a spirit of pride and unity.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and extended warm greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh on their Statehood Day. Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor described Uttar Pradesh as more than just a major state, calling it a living symbol of India’s deep-rooted cultural, historical and spiritual traditions.
He said that the identity of Uttar Pradesh is reflected in its rich and diverse culture, art, music and literature. The state, he noted, has given the nation many great personalities, freedom fighters and social reformers whose contributions continue to inspire generations and strengthen the national spirit.
The Lieutenant Governor paid special tribute to the soldiers, officers and employees from Uttar Pradesh who are serving in Ladakh. He expressed gratitude for their dedication and hard work, stating that their service has played an important role in strengthening national security and protecting the country’s borders. He assured that their loyalty and commitment to duty would always be held in high regard.
Referring to the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Shri Kavinder Gupta spoke about the collective national efforts underway to realise the vision of ‘Shreshtha Bharat’. He said this journey is being driven by steady progress in areas such as education, health, science and social development, with every state and citizen contributing to the nation’s growth. He also acknowledged the active role being played by Uttar Pradesh in this broader national mission.
The programme was conducted by Under Secretary Sachin Bali. Officials from the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat and Lok Niwas, along with personnel from Uttar Pradesh currently serving in Ladakh, were present during the celebrations.
The event reflected the shared bonds between regions and highlighted the contribution of states and their people to the unity and progress of the country.
