LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today distributed appointment letters to 1,228 newly selected nursing officers at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, marking a major step in strengthening the state’s healthcare workforce. The event was held on the occasion of Navratri, with the CM also extending festive greetings to the officers and their families.

Addressing the gathering, CM Adityanath highlighted the critical role of nurses in delivering quality healthcare to the people of Uttar Pradesh. He said nurses are the backbone of the hospital system, working round‑the‑clock to ensure that patients receive timely and compassionate care. He urged the newly appointed officers to treat their profession with dignity and a sense of service, and to maintain high standards of ethics and professionalism.

The CM also underlined the government’s focus on improving healthcare infrastructure and human resources in the state. He pointed out that large‑scale recruitment drives in the health sector, including the appointment of nursing officers, are aimed at reducing the doctor–nurse–patient ratio and ensuring that every district, block, and sub‑centre has adequate medical staff. The appointment of 1,228 nursing officers, he said, will directly benefit primary health centres, community health centres, and district hospitals across the state.

During the event, the nursing officers took a solemn pledge to serve the people with sincerity and dedication. The Chief Minister also interacted with some of the recruits, listening to their concerns and advising them to stay committed to continuous learning and skill upgradation. Administrators of the Health Department and senior officials of the state government were present at the function.

The distribution of appointment letters coincides with Navratri, which the CM described as a time of renewal, devotion, and positive energy. Extending Navratri greetings to the healthcare fraternity, he said the profession of nursing embodies the spirit of selfless service, similar to the values celebrated during the festival.
