Kargil, Aug 06: The Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh has unveiled a comprehensive online portal aimed at streamlining student services, marking a progressive shift toward digital administration. The portal, accessible at www.kargilcampus.in, was officially launched during a campus event led by Dr. Mehboob Ali, Incharge Administration, in the presence of Dr. Jaffar Ali Khan, Deputy Controller of Examinations, along with faculty members and staff.
Designed to centralize essential student facilities, the portal offers online registration for transportation, hostel accommodation, gym usage, and campus Wi-Fi through a single platform. The digital interface is expected to reduce procedural delays and improve accessibility for students across the campus.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Mehboob Ali described the portal as a move in alignment with the vision of Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha, who has emphasized the importance of enhancing digitally driven, student-oriented services. Dr. Ali highlighted that the initiative responds directly to repeated student appeals for an end to manual paperwork and in-person queues.
He praised the Department of Computer Science & IT for their prompt execution of the project, with special mention of Rakesh Kumar for designing and developing the platform in a matter of five days. His efforts were widely acknowledged during the event.
Dr. Jaffar Ali Khan, addressing attendees, described the launch as a student-focused development and urged other campuses to adopt similar digital solutions. He reiterated the university’s commitment to strengthening technological infrastructure for academic and administrative functions.
An orientation session followed the formal launch, where Rakesh Kumar demonstrated the portal’s features and invited feedback from users for further refinement.
The event witnessed active participation from faculty members, reflecting broad support for the university’s move toward a more connected and responsive campus environment.
