MUMBAI, OCT 19: Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after three motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, police said. Three people, including the actor’s driver and an autorickshaw driver, were reportedly injured in the incident.
According to preliminary information, Shroff was returning after playing football at a club when the attackers opened fire near Pushpa Park in Juhu. His driver, identified as Firdos, sustained injuries to his hand, while another injured person was also reported in connection with the firing.
The incident triggered a major security response, with Mumbai Police personnel and ambulances reaching the spot. The area was cordoned off, and 15 police teams were deployed to trace the unidentified assailants. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the suspects and establish their movements.
Meanwhile, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack. Gangster Anil Pandit reportedly claimed that he and Harman Sandhu were behind the incident. However, Mumbai Police has not officially confirmed the gang’s involvement, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
Following the attack, a threat was also reportedly issued to members of the Bollywood industry working with actor Salman Khan. The message warned that those who continued collaborating with Salman Khan could become future targets. The authenticity and responsibility for these threats remain matters for investigation.
The firing has raised fresh concerns about the safety of celebrities in Mumbai. Police are investigating whether the attack was specifically targeted at Shroff and whether it is connected to the alleged threats against members of the film industry.
The incident comes months after unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu on February 1. Several rounds were reportedly fired at the building, but no injuries were reported in that incident.
Mumbai Police is continuing its investigation into the latest firing, with efforts underway to identify the attackers, establish the motive and verify the claims of gang involvement.
