Leh, Jul 15: In a move that reflects growing academic synergies between institutions across diverse geographies, Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Dean of Research at the University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences & Technology (TDU), Bengaluru, held discussions with Prof. Saket Khushwaha, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh. The meeting, held at the University of Ladakh, served as a platform to deliberate on prospective collaborative ventures in research and academic exchange.
The dialogue centered around thematic areas that intertwine the natural wealth of Ladakh with TDU’s trans-disciplinary approach—medicinal plants, post-harvest value addition, functional foods, and nutrition. These domains, enriched by Ladakh’s unique biodiversity and deep-rooted traditional knowledge systems, offer fertile ground for meaningful exploration. The conversation underscored a mutual resolve to harness indigenous resources while aligning with contemporary scientific practices to foster innovation and long-term ecological well-being.
Prof. Khushwaha lauded TDU’s integrative model that merges ancestral wisdom with modern scientific paradigms. He affirmed that such collaborations could yield shared academic enrichment while simultaneously contributing to the region’s socio-economic upliftment.
Both universities expressed enthusiasm to move forward with initiatives that transcend conventional disciplinary boundaries, aiming to cultivate a robust research ecosystem that benefits not just their institutions, but also the communities they serve.
