Rajouri/Jammu, June 16: Security forces launched a search operation after a suspected Pakistani drone was sighted over a forward area in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir late Monday night, officials said.
According to officials, the drone-like object, fitted with a blinking light, was seen entering Indian territory from the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir side in the Sunderbani sector.
The suspected unmanned aerial vehicle reportedly hovered for a brief period between the Mahadev Gap and Kalal village before returning across the Line of Control.
Following the sighting, security personnel conducted a thorough search of the area on Tuesday morning to check for any possible airdropping of narcotics, weapons, or other suspicious materials.
However, no objectionable items were recovered during the operation, officials said.
Security agencies remain vigilant and are monitoring the area closely as investigations into the incident continue.
