Jammu, Oct 15 : Poonch Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Meena conducted foot patrolling in the main bazaar and adjoining areas of the town and reviewed security arrangements at temples during the ongoing Navratri celebrations, officials said on Thursday.
Meena, accompanied by police officers, visited several temples to inspect security deployment, frisking arrangements, CCTV coverage, lighting, entry and exit management, and parking facilities, they said.
He also interacted with temple committees and assessed the expected footfall during Navratri Pooja.
The SSP directed officers to ensure foolproof security, intensive patrolling, effective crowd management, adequate deployment of women police personnel and smooth traffic regulation around temple premises.
He also appealed to the public to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activity to Poonch District Police.
This year, Navratri is being observed from October 11 to 20, with the tenth and last day to be celebrated as Dussehra, or Vijayadashami.
