Leh, Apr 8: Marking World Health Day, the Ladakh chapter of Special Olympics Bharat on Tuesday organised a health screening camp in Leh in collaboration with SNM Hospital, aiming to promote preventive healthcare and early diagnosis among participants.
The initiative brought together medical professionals and volunteers to conduct basic health assessments, reflecting a coordinated effort to strengthen awareness around routine health check-ups in the region.
Officials associated with the programme stated that the camp focused on facilitating accessible healthcare services, particularly for individuals associated with Special Olympics Bharat, while also encouraging broader community participation.
Medical staff from SNM Hospital carried out screenings as part of the drive, underscoring the role of institutional partnerships in extending healthcare outreach in remote areas such as Ladakh.
The organisers noted that the observance of World Health Day provided an opportunity to reinforce the importance of regular health monitoring and to address gaps in access to medical services through collaborative initiatives.
The event forms part of ongoing efforts by Special Olympics Bharat’s Ladakh unit to integrate health and wellness programmes with its broader activities in the Union Territory.
