Leh, Oct 28: Doctors from Sonam Norboo Memorial (SNM) Hospital have formally commended LAHDC Leh Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Adv. Tashi Gyalson, for his sustained support to the district’s premier healthcare institution, citing his role in life-saving interventions and decisive administrative action.
In a cordial meeting held at the Council Secretariat on Wednesday, a delegation from SNM Hospital led by Medical Superintendent Dr. Rinchen Chosdol conveyed deep appreciation for the CEC’s consistent backing and timely assistance whenever required.
Dr. Chosdol highlighted his crucial support during emergency evacuations, noting that both financial and administrative facilitation provided by the CEC has ensured swift medical response and saved numerous lives. She also thanked him for approving funding for hands-on laparoscopic training for SNM Hospital’s gynaecologists — a move that has significantly enhanced surgical capabilities and patient care.
Earlier this year, a team of consultant gynaecologists from SNM Hospital, headed by Dr. Padma Dolma, completed a 15-day advanced laparoscopic training programme at Saidham Hospital in Shirdi, Maharashtra. The initiative, made possible through the support of LAHDC Leh, has equipped doctors with cutting-edge minimally invasive surgical skills now benefitting patients across the region.
The delegation expressed profound gratitude for the CEC’s proactive approach and unwavering readiness to extend support, describing it as impactful and deeply encouraging for the institution and its medical fraternity.
Responding to the delegation, CEC Tashi Gyalson commended the dedication and service of the SNM Hospital staff and lauded the continued efforts of Ladakh’s healthcare community in serving the people with sincerity and compassion.
