JALANDHAR, Feb 20: A 57-year-old Sikh man, Avtar Singh, was allegedly kidnapped Tuesday afternoon from the Guru Nanak Parkash Gurdwara complex in Tracy, California, US, where he worked as a cook and resided.
Surveillance footage reviewed by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office shows three unidentified individuals in dark clothing forcing Singh into a white SUV around 2:30 pm local time near the 16000 block of W Grant Line Road. The sheriff’s office described him as 5’7″ tall, about 200 pounds, last seen in light-colored traditional Sikh attire, and urged public tips via their channels.
Originally from Ludhiana, India, Singh’s family in California reported him missing; authorities are investigating it as both a missing person and abduction case, deeming it isolated with no community threat. As of Thursday, his whereabouts remained unknown despite community efforts.
