Jammu, April 3: In a significant development in the Thanamandi terror attack probe, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) Jammu & Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against Sabar Hussain for allegedly harbouring Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF) terrorists linked to the killing of civilian Mohd Razaq.
The chargesheet, submitted before a designated court, accuses Sabar Hussain of providing shelter, food, and logistical support to three LeT/TRF terrorists at his seasonal hut in Chamrer (A/P Shahdara Sharief, Surankote, Poonch) during late June to early July 2024. This aid facilitated the brutal attack, SIA stated.
The incident occurred on April 22, 2024, when unidentified terrorists stormed Mohd Razaq’s residence at Kunda, Shahdara Sharief, Thanamandi, and fired indiscriminately. Razaq died on the spot, while his brother, Tahir Khurshid alias Tahir Fauji—a Territorial Army jawan—sustained injuries.
Thanamandi Police initially registered the case, which was later transferred to SIA due to its sensitivity. Investigators recovered crucial evidence from the scene, recorded statements from key witnesses under relevant laws, and established prima facie offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, against the accused.
