Shopian, May 23: Thousands of citizens took part in a large padyatra in Shopian on Saturday, pledging commitment to a drug‑free Jammu & Kashmir, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor said in a post on X. Participants vowed to rid the union territory of narcotics and those exploiting drug networks to fund terrorism, calling the march a step toward a “new era” of community-led resistance against illegal drug activity.
