INTERNATIONAL DEC 11 :Google cofounder Sergey Brin has edged past Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on the global billionaires list, driven by a fresh rally in Alphabet’s share price. According to Forbes’ estimates, Brin’s net worth has risen to about 240 billion dollars, narrowly surpassing Bezos at roughly 239.9 billion dollars.
Brin’s wealth jumped by about 2.4 billion dollars in a single day, lifting him to fifth place worldwide and pushing Bezos down one spot. This is the second recent instance of a Google founder overtaking Bezos, after Larry Page briefly moved ahead of him last month.
Alphabet shares have climbed around 10 per cent over the past month, helped by strong performance of Google’s Gemini 3 AI model in industry benchmarks and growing investor confidence in the company’s AI strategy. Brin now ranks behind only Elon Musk, Larry Ellison and Larry Page on the rich list, while Bezos’ fortune has grown more slowly alongside a more modest rise in Amazon’s stock.
