Srinagar, Dec 7: In a significant anti-terrorism sweep, security forces uncovered a terror hideout along with an SLR rifle and ammunition during an extensive search operation in the dense Bhallara forest area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Sunday, officials confirmed.
A coordinated joint team comprising various security agencies initiated the operation under the jurisdiction of Police Post Karrara and Police Station Thathri, targeting the rugged forest terrain known for occasional militant activity. The meticulous search yielded one SLR rifle, two magazines, and 20 live rounds, indicating the site served as a potential hideout for terrorist elements.
Authorities emphasised that the recovery underscores ongoing vigilance in sensitive border regions. The operation remains active in the area, with security personnel combing surrounding zones for additional arms, explosives, or terror-related materials. Further updates are anticipated as the probe intensifies.
