Leh, Jun 30: Bhikkhu Sanghasena, the revered Buddhist monk and founder of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, delivered an evocative and deeply reflective Dhamma talk at the Mahabodhi Society in Bengaluru, drawing a heartfelt response from those in attendance. His visit marked a profound reconnection with the roots of his spiritual journey.
The day began with a traditional Puja and chanting session, led by Bhikkhu Sanghasena himself, immersing the audience in an atmosphere of devotion and tranquility. He then guided the congregation through the formal observance of the Three Refuges and the Five Precepts, followed by a serene guided meditation that brought a sense of stillness to the room.
In his Dhamma discourse, Bhikkhu Sanghasena spoke with warmth and humility, recalling the formative years spent under the guidance of the late Most Venerable Dr. Acharya Buddharakkhita—lovingly known as “Bada Bhanteji.” With visible emotion, he reflected on the invaluable teachings of his mentor and urged practitioners to embody compassion in all spheres of life.
Earlier, Bhikkhu Sanghasena paid a personal tribute to his teacher by visiting Bada Bhanteji’s kutir and offering prayers in the sacred puja room. He also visited the Bodhi Stupa and the venerable Bodhi Tree within the premises, pausing to honor the spiritual heritage enshrined there.
For the disciples and devotees present, the event served not only as a discourse but as a homecoming — a moment of shared reverence and renewal. For Bhikkhu Sanghasena, it was a journey into memory, devotion, and spiritual affirmation, breathing new life into the bond between master and disciple, teacher and temple.
