Samba, Jan 29, 2026: In a major crackdown on narcotics smuggling, Samba Police has arrested three drug smugglers—including a woman—in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur and recovered approximately 127 grams of heroin‑like substance (Chitta) along with ₹60,600 in cash from their possession.
Acting on reliable information about heroin (Chitta) being smuggled by three persons, including a woman, travelling in an Innova car from Rakh Barotian towards Vijaypur, a team of Police Station Vijaypur laid a naka at Tarapur and intercepted the vehicle bearing registration number JKO2DD‑2516. During the search, about 127 grams of heroin‑like substance and ₹60,600 in cash were recovered from the occupants of the car.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Fardeen Ahmed Dar, son of Javed Ahmed Dar, of Tengpora Bypass, Batmaloo, Srinagar; Mohd Usman, son of Mohd Yousaf, of Talab Khatikan, Jammu; and Iqra, wife of Aqib, of Shalteng, Srinagar. The contraband and the vehicle used in the crime have been seized. A case, FIR No. 19/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act, has been registered at PS Vijaypur and the investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out by a team from PS Vijaypur led by the SHO, under the supervision of the SDPO Vijaypur and the overall supervision of the SSP Samba.
