Jammu, Oct 3: Jammu and Kashmir Police have claimed to have solved a vehicle and transformer theft case in RS Pura with the arrest of two persons and the recovery of a stolen Mahindra Pickup.
According to a police official, a complaint regarding the theft of a Mahindra Pickup from Sunderpur, RS Pura, was received on August 25. Subsequently, FIR No. 157/2026 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station RS Pura and an investigation was launched.
During the investigation, a police team used technical analysis and other investigative methods to identify the suspects. The accused were identified as Mohammad Amjaj of Kolata, Nagrota, Jammu, and Bakar Hussain of Tanda Goraj, Samba.
Based on their disclosure, police recovered the stolen Mahindra Pickup bearing registration number JK11A-3540 from Sidhra in Jammu district.
Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
