Leh, May 05 : Retired Tehsildar Haji Abdul Wahid Khalsawar on Monday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at its Leh office, with party leaders stating that his induction is expected to bolster organisational outreach in the region.
Khalsawar, a resident of Murtsey Colony with decades of experience in public administration, said his decision to align with the party stemmed from its governance approach and emphasis on public service delivery. He noted that the party’s focus on grassroots engagement and developmental initiatives influenced his move.
Senior leaders of the BJP, who were present at the brief joining programme, welcomed Khalsawar into the party fold and underscored the value of his administrative background. They expressed the view that his familiarity with local governance structures and public issues would aid the party in strengthening its connect with residents across Leh and adjoining areas.
The interaction during the event also touched upon local developmental concerns, with party representatives reiterating their commitment to expanding outreach and addressing public grievances through sustained engagement.
Khalsawar’s entry comes at a time when the BJP has been seeking to consolidate its presence in Ladakh by drawing on individuals with administrative experience and local credibility.
