Srinagar, Jul 24: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district have attached a residential property found to be used for sheltering terrorists, according to police officials. The action was carried out under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), marking a significant move against terrorism in the region.
Police in Sopore confirmed that the property was involved in providing shelter and logistical support to terrorists engaged in anti-national and unlawful activities. The property includes a single-storey house along with land measuring three kanals and three marlas, located in Reban Ramham. It is owned by Javaid Ahmad Dar, a resident of Reban in Sopore, North Kashmir.
The property was attached as part of an investigation linked to a case registered under the UAPA and the Arms Act. Investigative findings revealed that the premises were deliberately used to harbour terrorists, assisting them in executing terror-related operations in the Sopore area.
Following the collection of evidence and with requisite approval from the competent authorities, legal proceedings were initiated, leading to the formal attachment of the property in accordance with UAPA regulations.
