POONCH, Apr 28: In a significant enforcement action, District Police Poonch attached immovable property belonging to proclaimed offenders in connection with a long‑pending criminal case, underscoring its resolve to uphold the rule of law.
The attached property is an old residential house built on 02 kanal and 05 marlas of land under Khasra No. 491, with an assessed value of approximately ₹5.5 lakh. It is jointly owned by Mukhti Bi, wife of Zamana Lone, and Abdul Aziz, both residents of Chamber Kanari, Tehsil Mandi, District Poonch.
The action was carried out under Section 88 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), in compliance with orders of the Hon’ble Court, in relation to FIR No. 07/2002 registered at Police Station Mandi under Sections 2/3 of the Egress and Internal Movement (Control) Ordinance (E&IMCO) Act.
Both accused are reported to have exfiltrated to Pakistan/PoJK and were subsequently declared proclaimed offenders by the court after repeatedly evading arrest. Acting on the court’s directions, Poonch Police executed the attachment in coordination with revenue authorities, following all due legal procedures.
The district police reiterated its commitment to taking stringent legal measures against absconders and proclaimed offenders, reinforcing public confidence in the justice system and deterring others from evading the law.
