Jammu, June 11: In a major success against property-related crimes, Police Station Bakshi Nagar has solved a theft case involving the stealing of DVRs and other equipment from BSNL telecom towers in the Shakti Nagar area, recovering stolen property valued at approximately ₹4.5 lakh.

The case was reported when BSNL officials approached Police Station Bakshi Nagar with a complaint regarding the theft of DVR units from telecom tower installations in Shakti Nagar. Acting promptly, police registered FIR No. 69/2026 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an immediate investigation.

Under the supervision of the SDPO City West, a dedicated investigation team comprising PSI Abhimanyu, HC Mohd Arshid Hussain, and other police personnel initiated extensive field and technical investigations. The team conducted a thorough analysis of CCTV footage collected from areas surrounding the crime scenes.

During the investigation, police developed a crucial lead regarding a Swift car suspected to have been used in the commission of the theft. Acting on the information, the vehicle was traced and one accused was apprehended from the Raghunath Bazaar area.

Sustained questioning of the arrested accused, supported by further technical investigation, led to the identification of two more individuals allegedly involved in the crime. Based on the disclosures made during interrogation, police teams conducted targeted raids in Raghunath Bazaar and Beli Charana.

The operations were led by the SHO Bakshi Nagar along with PSI Abhimanyu, PSI Amir Syed, HC Mohd Arshid Hussain, and members of the investigating team. During the raids, police recovered six stolen DVRs, along with wires, tools, and other equipment linked to the offence.

The recovered property has been valued at nearly ₹4.5 lakh. Police are continuing efforts to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects and to determine whether they are connected to other similar theft cases.

The prompt detection of the case, arrest of the accused, and recovery of a substantial amount of stolen property within a short period highlight the efficiency, dedication, and professionalism of Police Station Bakshi Nagar in protecting public assets and safeguarding critical infrastructure.

Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through emergency helpline services.
