JAMMU, JUNE 15: Demonstrating prompt action and dedication towards public service, the Security Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully traced and returned a lost bag containing cash and important documents to a pilgrim visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district on Monday.
According to officials, the pilgrim, identified as Vipin Sonkar, reported that he had misplaced his bag during his journey to the revered shrine. The bag was believed to have been lost either in Katra or at the Sanjichhat Helipad.
Following the complaint, police personnel immediately launched a search operation to locate the missing bag. Their efforts paid off when the unattended bag was found at the Sanjichhat Helipad.
After carefully verifying the ownership and checking the contents, which included Rs 72,220 in cash along with several important documents, the police handed over the bag to the rightful owner after completing the necessary formalities.
Expressing gratitude, Sonkar thanked the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their swift response, professionalism and sincere efforts in recovering his belongings.
The incident has once again highlighted the commitment of the police force towards ensuring the safety and convenience of pilgrims visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
