AMRITSAR, JUNE 13: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi must decide whether he stands with students or with an “incompetent” and “failed” minister, as he addressed a protest in Amritsar demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
A large number of students and youth gathered at the Golden Gate, the entrance to Amritsar, to participate in the demonstration against alleged examination irregularities. The protest was part of the CJP’s nationwide campaign seeking accountability and Pradhan’s resignation.
Addressing the gathering, Dipke announced that supporters would march to Delhi on June 20 and continue their protest until the minister steps down. He urged participants not to fear arrest and stressed that the movement aims to secure justice for NEET and CBSE students affected by examination-related controversies.
“The main objective is to ensure accountability and justice for students. Paper leaks and examination irregularities cannot continue unchecked,” he said.
Dipke also highlighted Punjab’s role in major public movements, recalling the farmers’ agitation against the now-repealed farm laws and emphasizing that public support from the state has historically strengthened nationwide campaigns.
Reiterating his demand for the minister’s resignation, Dipke said Prime Minister Modi would have to decide whether to stand with students seeking accountability or continue backing a minister he described as ineffective.
