New Delhi, Apr 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi penned letters to over a crore civil servants on April 20, ahead of Civil Services Day, emphasizing that ‘Nagrikdevo Bhava’ (citizen is god) must guide every decision, with governance rooted in compassion and lifelong learning.
Issued in 12 languages—Hindi, English, Marathi, Odia, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Punjabi, Assamese, Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil—the letters address civil servants as ‘Karmayogi’ during festivals like Rongali Bihu, Vishu, Puthandu, Poila Boishakh, Maha Bishuba Pana Sankranti, and Baisakhi.
Modi highlighted the 21st-century challenges and opportunities, urging use of platforms like iGOT Karmayogi for continuous learning: “You are choosing to be better so that Bharat can be better.”
He congratulated them on joining ‘Sadhana Saptah’—a festival of learning—and praised their dedication to a ‘Viksit Bharat’, reaffirming Mission Karmayogi’s focus on citizen service, inquiry, and personal growth.
