Geneva, June 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Geneva on Tuesday en route to Evian, France, where he is scheduled to participate in the G7 Summit.
Shortly after his arrival, the Prime Minister met Guy Parmelin, President of the Swiss Confederation, at the airport. The two leaders held discussions on issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.
Sharing an update on social media, PM Modi said he had a productive interaction with the Swiss President and looked forward to the upcoming engagements at the G7 Summit.
The Prime Minister’s visit comes as world leaders gather for the summit to deliberate on key global challenges, including economic growth, international security, climate action, technological innovation, and geopolitical developments.
India’s participation in the G7 outreach sessions is expected to provide an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with leading economies and highlight the country’s perspectives on pressing global issues.
PM Modi is scheduled to travel onward to Evian, France, where he will join fellow world leaders for the summit discussions and a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event.
