LEH: In a spectacular display of discipline, valour and military pride, the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre hosted a grand Passing Out Parade to formally induct 193 well-trained Agniveer recruits into the prestigious Ladakh Scouts Regiment.
The ceremony, held against the stunning backdrop of the Himalayas, drew an impressive gathering of senior military officials, civil dignitaries and proud families who travelled from distant corners of Ladakh to witness this momentous occasion.
The Reviewing Officer commended the young soldiers for their impeccable parade performance and lauded their dedication throughout the demanding training period. Addressing the fresh inductees, he urged them to uphold the noble traditions of the Indian Army and commit themselves wholeheartedly to the service of the nation.
He extended warm congratulations to the parents for inspiring their wards to join the Regiment, acknowledging their support as a cornerstone of the recruits’ success.
The Reviewing Officer also praised the Ladakh Scouts for their exemplary bravery, outstanding achievements and unmatched commitment in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ladakh.
Calling upon the Agniveers to strive for excellence in every endeavour, he reminded them of the sacred responsibility they now shoulder—protecting the nation against all odds with unwavering courage and integrity.
A highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of seven Agniveers who received medals for their exceptional performance during training. Adding to the emotional pride of the day, the Gaurav Padak was presented to the parents whose wards have joined the Regiment as Agniveers—an honour recognising the family’s contribution to the nation’s defence.
As the parade concluded, emotions ran high among the families who had gathered from remote villages to witness their sons take their first step into military service. The ceremony stood as a testament to the indomitable spirit of Ladakh and the timeless legacy of the Ladakh Scouts Regiment.
The reviewing officer exhorted the soldiers to continue to strive hard in pursuit of excellence and take a solemn vow to defend the sovereignty of the nation against all odds in the true spirits signified by the ethos of the Army.
He said seven young Agniveers were awarded medals for their outstanding performance during the training.
About Gaurav Padak, the reviewing officer said it was indeed a proud moment for the kin of the recruits, who had arrived from far flung areas to witness the grand ceremony.
