SRINAGAR, Feb 6: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches on Friday at the Government Medical College (GMC) in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, linked to a “white collar” terror module dismantled in November last year.
A team of NIA investigators targeted the campus, focusing on the recovery of a rifle from a doctor’s locker discovered during the initial probe, officials confirmed.
The operation ties into the arrest of nine individuals, including Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, which uncovered substantial explosives in Faridabad, in the National Capital Region (NCR).
In a related development, security forces launched search operations in Pulwama’s Koil Karewa area based on intelligence about terrorists present there. No arrests or recoveries have been reported yet.
