Leh, Feb 26: A seven-day National Integration Tour to Bodh Gaya, Varanasi and Delhi for community members from Ladakh was formally flagged in at the Women Empowerment Centre, Nimu Military Station by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Dorje Division.
Conducted from February 18 to 25, 2026, the tour enabled 20 participants from Nimu, Basgo and Leh to embark on a memorable journey to some of India’s most revered Buddhist pilgrimage centres and iconic heritage landmarks. The initiative aimed to broaden perspectives, deepen cultural understanding and strengthen the spirit of national unity.
At Bodh Gaya, the group visited the sacred Mahabodhi Temple complex, where Lord Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment, experiencing first-hand the spiritual significance of one of Buddhism’s holiest sites. In Varanasi, they explored ancient ghats along the Ganga and key cultural landmarks, gaining insight into the city’s timeless traditions and civilisational heritage. The tour also included visits to prominent national landmarks in Delhi, offering participants exposure to the country’s historical and administrative institutions.
Organised under Operation Sadbhavana, the initiative reflects the continued efforts of the Fire & Fury Corps to promote national integration, cultural awareness and community outreach in border areas. Through such tours, participants are provided opportunities to connect with India’s diverse heritage while strengthening their sense of belonging to the nation.
Addressing the participants at the flag-in ceremony, the GOC, Dorje Division appreciated the enthusiasm displayed by the community members and expressed confidence that the exposure would inspire them to serve as ambassadors of unity and positive change within their respective villages.
