Kargil: Shaheed Diwas was observed with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Government High School Kargil through a series of meaningful activities conducted under the theme “My Bharat, My Responsibility.” The program was organized by Mera Yuva Bharat Kargil with active participation from students, teachers, and officials of Govt. High School Baroo Kargil.
The event was held to pay tribute to the supreme sacrifices of India’s great freedom fighters — Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Shivaram Rajguru, and Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar, whose courage and dedication continue to inspire generations.
The program commenced with a brief address highlighting the importance of Shaheed Diwas and the role of youth in nation-building. Students were encouraged to understand that freedom comes with responsibility and that their actions today shape the future of the nation.
A Padyatra (awareness walk) was organized as the main activity of the program. Students and participants walked together carrying placards and raising slogans promoting unity, patriotism, and civic responsibility. The Padyatra served as a strong message of collective responsibility and community participation.
In addition to the Padyatra, a cleanliness drive was also conducted within and around the school premises. Students actively participated in cleaning their surroundings, demonstrating the importance of maintaining hygiene and taking ownership of their environment. The activity aimed to instill the values of cleanliness, discipline, and responsible citizenship among young minds.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Director of Mera Yuva Bharat Kargl emphasized that being a responsible citizen begins with small actions such as keeping surroundings clean, respecting others, and contributing positively to society. The students were encouraged to adopt these values in their daily lives.
The event successfully created awareness among students about their role in society while honoring the legacy of the nation’s martyrs.
