Leh, Apr 1: A public outreach programme under the “Jung-sJabs” initiative was conducted in Sakti village of Kharu sub-division on Tuesday, aimed at delivering essential government services directly to residents and addressing their concerns at the grassroots level.
Organised under the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, the programme brought together multiple government departments to provide on-the-spot assistance across a range of services. Residents availed facilities related to revenue matters, Aadhaar enrolment and updates, banking access, social welfare schemes, as well as services in the sectors of animal husbandry, sheep husbandry, agriculture and horticulture.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kharu, Mohd Shabir, oversaw the implementation of the programme, monitoring the delivery of services by various departments. He also interacted with local residents, gathering feedback and recording grievances to be addressed by the concerned authorities.
Officials said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the district administration to strengthen last-mile delivery of public services and ensure that benefits of welfare schemes reach remote areas without delay. The outreach programme also served as a platform for residents to directly communicate their issues to the administration.
Residents participated in the programme and raised concerns related to service access and local development, which were noted for follow-up action by the departments present.
The administration is expected to continue such outreach initiatives in other parts of the district in the coming weeks to enhance accessibility and responsiveness of governance mechanisms.
