Jammu, Dec 23: Member of Parliament from the Jammu–Reasi constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma, on Tuesday paid obeisance at the holy Samadhi of Shri Dawarka Nath Shastri Ji at Suhanjana village in the Marh Assembly segment.
The MP was accompanied by Surinder Kumar, MLA Marh, along with party leaders and local representatives. The visit was marked by prayers and interaction with devotees who had gathered to seek blessings.
Later, the Member of Parliament attended the Gau Gopal Yagya organised at Suhanjana, where he received blessings from Shri Gangadhar Ji Maharaj. The religious gathering witnessed participation from people across age groups, including women, elders and youth, who joined the prayers with devotion.
Addressing the gathering, Jugal Kishore Sharma spoke about the importance of building a society free from substance abuse. He appealed to people, especially the youth, to follow moral values, social responsibility and a disciplined way of life rooted in Sanatan traditions. He said that the teachings of revered saints continue to guide society towards harmony and ethical conduct.
The MP also encouraged young people to adopt values of service, righteousness and love for the nation. During the programme, the National Flag was jointly hoisted by Shri Gangadhar Ji Maharaj and the Member of Parliament, reflecting unity and respect for the country.
Cultural and patriotic performances were also presented during the event, adding colour to the religious programme and highlighting the region’s cultural ethos.
Among those present were DDC member Balbir Lal, SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma, senior BJP leaders Rajinder Chib and Satish Bharti, BJP District General Secretary Bhuvnesh Mehta, Mandal President Balbir Kour, Nihal Singh, former sarpanches and panches, and other respected members of society.
