Leh, May 12 : The Mega Free Medical Camp being organised in connection with the Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of the Tathagata Buddha continued on its tenth day at the Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital Devachan Campus, witnessing sustained public participation and continued delivery of healthcare services to residents and visiting devotees.
The medical outreach initiative is being organised jointly by the UT Administration, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre and SNM Hospital, Leh, and is scheduled to continue till May 14.
Officials associated with the programme said the camp has emerged as an important healthcare support initiative during the ongoing sacred exposition, offering accessible medical consultation and diagnostic services to people from different parts of Ladakh.
A major component of the camp included the Sowa-Rigpa medical outreach programme organised by the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa under the Tribal Health Care Research Programme. The camp provided free medical consultations and traditional medicines based on diagnosis and treatment requirements.
In addition to traditional healthcare services, the medical camp also offered TB screening, non-communicable disease (NCD) screening, radiology facilities and other diagnostic services aimed at ensuring comprehensive healthcare support for the public.
Healthcare workers and medical teams continued to attend to patients throughout the day as beneficiaries availed consultation and diagnostic facilities at the Devachan campus.
Officials stated that the initiative reflects continued efforts to strengthen healthcare outreach during the large-scale spiritual gathering associated with the sacred relic exposition, while ensuring quality medical services remain accessible to both residents and visitors.
The ongoing medical camp forms part of a broader series of welfare and public service initiatives being conducted alongside the exposition in Leh.
