Meerut, Dec 7: Shopkeepers in Lohiyanagar were stunned Friday morning to discover an unidentified young man’s body dumped right outside a stationery store, with CCTV footage revealing uniformed police officers quietly abandoning it in the dead of night.
The viral clip sparked massive public fury online, slamming “police indifference to ordinary citizens.” Meerut SSP Dr Vipin Tada swiftly suspended L-Block outpost in-charge Jitendra Kumar and constable Rajesh, while terminating home guard Rohtash’s services. An internal probe launched under SP City Ayush Vikram Singh is underway, as the victim’s identity remains unknown.
Allegations claim Nauchanadi police, finding the body in their area late Thursday, shirked postmortem duties by shifting it around 1:40 am to Lohiyanagar jurisdiction.
