Kathua; 03 May : Continuing its efforts against drug menace, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS recovered approx. 35.04 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics,cash amount of Rs. 75940/-, 35 Mobiles Phones, 01 Laptop,One Electronic Weighing Machine etc from the house of the accused & 01 person got arrested.
Brief facts of the case are that on 02/05/2026 an information has been received through reliable sources at Police Station Kathua that one person namely Amandeep Singh S/o Baldev Singh R/o Ward no. 08 Kathua, Tehsil and District Kathua is actively involved in the illegal trade of Heroin like Narcotics, especially targeting the youth of Kathua town and supplying the said contraband to them for wrongful monetary gain from his residential house situated at Ward no. 08, Kathua and he is in possession of a large quantity of Heroin-like narcotic substance and actively waiting for customers with the intention of selling the contraband to them from his house. Based on this information, a case FIR No. 225/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Kathua.Acting swiftly Police team led by SHO PS Kathua under the guidance of Addl. SP Kathua & DySP Hqrs Kathua conducted search of the house of accused namely Amandeep Singh S/o Baldev Singh R/o Ward no. 08 Kathua Tehsil and District Kathua in presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class Kathua (NT), heroin-like narcotic substance weighing 11.35 grams including white transparent poly pouch, Cash Rs. 75940/- and another heroin-like narcotic substance weighing 23.69 grams including white transparent poly pouch respectively were recovered and seized on the spot. Thus overall total 35.04 grams heroin like narcotic substance recovered from the house of accused person. Further, while investigation 35 Mobile Phones, 01 laptop, one electronic weighing machine, 120 White transparent Poly Pouches were also seized whereas further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and forward/backward linkages of the contraband.
