Leh, Feb 08: The book Contours of Change: BJP & The New Kashmir Paradigm, authored by noted academician Dr. Jeevan Dhar, was formally released on Sunday by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh Kavinder Gupta at an academic ceremony held in Jammu.
The release function drew participation from scholars, students and members of civil society, reflecting wide academic interest in contemporary political and administrative developments in Jammu and Kashmir.
Among those present were Dr. Prem Singh, former Jammu Municipal Corporation corporator Narotam Sharma, and Opinder Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor commended the author for his research-oriented work and said that such scholarly studies assist society in understanding historical transitions, democratic processes and the changing administrative and development framework of the region. He noted that academic engagement with recent political developments remains essential for informed public discourse.
Speaking after the release, Dr. Jeevan Dhar said the book seeks to examine political, constitutional and developmental changes in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years and places these shifts within a wider national context. He expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for releasing the publication and thanked the invited guests and participants for their support.
Dr. Prem Singh, while congratulating the author, observed that academic literature grounded in regional realities plays a guiding role for students and researchers working on Jammu and Kashmir. Narotam Sharma and Opinder Sharma also praised the work, stating that the publication would help readers gain a clearer understanding of policy changes and the evolving socio-political environment in the region.
The programme concluded with an interactive session during which participants welcomed the author’s balanced academic approach and extended good wishes for his future research work.
