LEH: PM Shri Government High School Chuchot Yokma marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Wednesday with the inauguration of a newly built physiotherapy room, aimed at supporting students with special needs. The facility was opened by 14 Corps Commander Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, who attended the event as the chief guest.
The observance brought together senior officials of the School Education Department, including Secretary Bhanu Prabha and Director Tashi Dolma, along with Leh Chief Education Officer Deldan Angmo, Social Welfare Director Kunzes Angmo, ADDC Leh Sonam Nurbu, staff and parents.
Lt Gen Bhalla toured exhibition stalls displaying artwork, knitting and other crafts created by children with disabilities. He praised their creativity and efforts while encouraging them to continue exploring their talents.
In a gesture of support, the Corps Commander handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 for the benefit of the students. School authorities expressed optimism that the newly unveiled physiotherapy room and continued community backing would enhance learning opportunities and rehabilitation services for children with diverse needs.
