Leh, May 20 : Former Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of the BJP-led Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh, Tashi Gyalson, was called on by a delegation from Lingshed Monastery led by the Lobon and Venerable monks in Leh on Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by senior BJP leader Tashi Dorjai.
During the interaction, the delegation of monks expressed appreciation for Adv. Gyalson’s role in the creation of the proposed Sham district and acknowledged his efforts in ensuring the inclusion of their villages within Leh district.
The delegation also thanked the former CEC for extending support to the Trans-Singela region during his tenure in the Hill Council.
The monks further conveyed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena for the formal notification of the five newly created districts and for addressing the long-pending demand of the region.
Meanwhile, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, along with a delegation from the Ex-Servicemen League Leh led by its president, Honorary Captain Sonam Morup and executive members, also called on Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra at the UT Secretariat.
During the meeting, the delegation raised several issues concerning the welfare of ex-servicemen in Ladakh, including the formal allotment of land that had earlier been approved by the 6th LAHDC Leh during Adv. Gyalson’s tenure as CEC.
Discussions also focused on welfare-related measures aimed at addressing the concerns and well-being of ex-servicemen in the region.
