Leh, Apr 7: District Police Leh on Monday commenced an orientation programme for candidates preparing to appear in the upcoming Ladakh Police recruitment for Sub-Inspector and constable posts, drawing an overwhelming response from aspirants across the region.
According to officials, a total of 3,003 candidates registered for the programme through email, phone calls and messaging platforms, prompting authorities to organise the sessions in two separate batches to ensure smooth conduct and effective engagement. Each batch will accommodate around 1,500 participants.
The first batch began at the District Police headquarters in Leh, where aspirants are being provided structured guidance on both physical and theoretical components in line with the tentative recruitment syllabus. The initiative aims to familiarise candidates with the requirements of the selection process while offering practical exposure.
As part of the programme, police personnel are conducting demonstrations and supervised training sessions in physical activities such as running, high jump, long jump, push-ups and shot put. Participants actively took part in these exercises, gaining first-hand experience of the physical standards expected during recruitment.
To support the candidates during the training period, authorities have also set up a medical camp and canteen facilities at the venue.
Officials stated that the orientation programme is intended to assist aspirants in preparing systematically and to improve their readiness for the recruitment process. They further urged eligible candidates who have not yet registered to enrol for the second phase of the programme.
The initiative reflects efforts by District Police Leh to streamline preparation for police recruitment while ensuring wider participation from youth in the region.
