Kargil, Jun 11: In a rare yet heartening recognition of lifelong service to education, three of Kargil’s most devoted educators were felicitated today with the prestigious State Teacher Award 2024 by the Union Territory of Ladakh, in a ceremony held at the Council Secretariat, Kargil.

During the ceremony, EC Kacho Mohd Feroz praised the awardees for their unwavering commitment to shaping young minds, highlighting that the influence of a teacher is often underappreciated but remains fundamental to a progressive society. He reminded the gathering that the impact of quality teaching may not always be immediately visible, but its effect resonates through generations. He encouraged educators not to lose heart if recognition is delayed, emphasizing that true acknowledgment in the field of education often comes after years of silent dedication and perseverance.

The recipients of the State Teacher Award 2024—Mohd Abdullah from Government Middle School Karith, Khadim Hussain from Government Higher Secondary School Pashkum, and Mehboob Ali from Government Higher Secondary School Trespone—were felicitated for their exemplary service and outstanding contributions to the education sector in Ladakh. They were presented with certificates and commemorative mementos by EC Kacho Mohd Feroz as a mark of appreciation.

Executive Councillor Er. Punchok Tashi, also present at the event, extended his congratulations and reflected on the crucial role educators play in every success story. He emphasized that teachers must treat each student with compassion and nurture them as they would their own children. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing the growing educational opportunities and digital platforms available today to raise the standard of learning in the region.

Adding to the spirit of the occasion, Councillor Ghulam Haider of the Lankerchey constituency applauded the teachers for their tireless efforts and shared his pride in their achievements. The awardees, in turn, shared emotional and inspiring accounts of their journeys, challenges, and hopes for the future, offering a rare glimpse into the sacrifices and perseverance that define the teaching profession.

This event not only celebrated individual excellence but also reaffirmed LAHDC Kargil’s commitment to strengthening the education system and empowering the teaching community. It served as a powerful reminder of the pivotal role educators play in building a brighter, more inclusive future for Ladakh.
