JAMMU: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kargil-I has been conferred with the prestigious “Best KVK of Ladakh–2025” award in recognition of its outstanding performance and exemplary contribution towards agricultural extension and technology dissemination in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The award was presented during the Three-Day Annual Zonal Workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras–2025, organized by the ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone-I, Ludhiana, in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J).
The workshop was held from December 22 to 24, 2025, at SKUAST-Jammu. Head, KVK Kargil-I, Dr. Nasreen Kacho, received the award on behalf of the institution at Jammu.
The honour reflects the collective efforts of the KVK team in promoting innovative agricultural practices, capacity building of farmers, transfer of modern technologies, and strengthening sustainable agriculture in the challenging agro-climatic conditions of Kargil and Ladakh.
The recognition has brought pride to the farming community and stakeholders of Kargil district.
Farmers and well-wishers have congratulated Dr. Nasreen Kacho and the entire KVK Kargil-I team for their dedication, commitment, and impactful field-level interventions.
The achievement is expected to further motivate KVK Kargil-I to continue its mission of empowering farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity in the region.
