Kulgam, Mar 22: Security has been tightened in Nadimarg in the run‑up to the anniversary of the 2003 massacre, with Jammu and Kashmir Police carrying out extensive search operations in the area. Tomorrow marks the solemn remembrance of the terror attack in which several civilians were killed, and authorities have put the region on high alert to prevent any untoward incident.
Police teams have intensified patrolling, erected additional checkpoints, and conducted area‑domination drills in Nadimarg and surrounding villages. Drone surveillance and coordination with local administration and intelligence units have also been strengthened to ensure public safety.
Senior police officials said the heightened deployment aims to deter any attempt to exploit the sensitive date, while also reassuring residents and the families of the victims that the security apparatus remains vigilant. The force has also appealed to locals to cooperate and report any suspicious activity.
