Jammu, Dec 23: The Taekwondo Association of District Kathua has announced the District Kathua Taekwondo Championships for the 2025–26 season, scheduled to be held on December 25 and 26 at JDS Gurukul School.
The two-day championship will be organised under the supervision of the J&K Taekwondo Association and the J&K Sports Council, and will be conducted as part of the My Youth My Pride initiative.
Competitions will be held across Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior and Senior categories, offering a competitive arena for athletes from across District Kathua. Organisers said the championship aims to provide structured exposure to young sportspersons while maintaining strict standards of discipline, fairness and technical conduct.
The association has issued clear participation guidelines for athletes. A valid JKTA athlete licence is mandatory, and entries without the licence will not be accepted. Senior category athletes must submit Black Belt certificates in accordance with norms laid down by the Taekwondo Federation of India.
Participants are also required to submit a duly filled registration form signed by parents or guardians, along with copies of their Aadhaar card, JKTA licence and date of birth certificate issued by the municipality or the concerned Sarpanch.
The decision to hold the championship was taken unanimously at a meeting of the association’s office bearers, chaired by its president Munish Sharma.
