JAMMU, FEB 18: BJP leader and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Wednesday thanked Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for reopening tourist destinations shut after the Pahalgam terror attack, calling it a key step towards normalcy.
Speaking to reporters outside the assembly complex, Sharma said he was “extremely thankful to LG Manoj Sinha sahab” for the move, hailing it as a win for security forces who overcame challenges to ensure safety. “There are obviously hurdles, but our forces have prevailed—we salute their dedication,” he added.
On queries about Omar Abdullah and a Union Minister’s remarks on statehood restoration, Sharma quipped, “Statehood is coming, but I don’t know if it’ll involve consulting Omar Abdullah or if he’s even been told the process has begun.”
